Joining IST in the capacity of Advisory Board Members are: Charles Bennett (of IBM Research); Jon Feiber (of Mohr, Davidow Ventures, formerly of Sun Microsystems); Joe Goodman (of Stanford University); Richard Karp (of UC Berkeley); Carver Mead (of Caltech and Foveon); Phil Neches (consultant and member of the Caltech Board of Trustees); Dominic Orr (of Aruba Networks, formerly of Nortel Networks); and Albert Yu (of OneAngstrom, formerly of Intel).
The role of the Advisory Board is to inspire, advise, and promote Caltech’s IST venture through regular input regarding our goals and pursuits. Support such as this is critical for building a world-class organization. |
Addressing the newly constituted board, Jehoshua Bruck, Director of IST, expressed his gratitude, “We really appreciate the time and energy you have committed to this activity. Your advice will help us to crystallize our plans for IST and build momentum for our efforts both within and outside of Caltech. It is crucial to our success.” President David Baltimore, who also attended this first meeting, joined Bruck in remarking on the significance of this moment. “Caltech has never attempted an initiative as bold as IST before. We welcome your wisdom and counsel.”
